In January physisists from Lund University (Post doc Vassiely Kornienko and Professor Johan Mauritsson) visited the rink to make measurements for an upcoming article in ’Fysikaktuellt’ about acceleration in figure skating.
LKK’s Merle Demuth made a big contribution to this study by wearing an accelerometer that measured her acceleration during different spins.
About Vassiely Kornienko: he has grown up with figureskating, both parents from successful figure skating careers (competing for France and Russia) now active as coaches for Figureskating Amsterdam where Vessiely's younger brother Grigory is also training and competing (and is also contributing to the article by making the same type of accelerometer while jumping).
About Johan Mauritsson: you probably recognise him since he is one of the members of 'slipgruppen' ?.
Quintuple jumps by 2030? ?
